Japanese Washing Grains
A traditional cleansing powder from the seeds of the plant "Phaseolus Angularis Powder". These grains are one of nature's most gentle facial treatments; valuable as a cleanser or exfoliant and suitable for all skin types. Grains should be stored in a cool, dry place. Only one to two teaspoonfuls need to be used for treatment.
1. As a facial cleanser for normal skin types: Mix a spoonful with warm water alone or with flower water with ONE drop of a suitable essential oil (ie. chamomile) and make a paste which is then gently massaged over the face. Wash off with warm water.
2. As an exfoliant treatment for dry skin: First, rub the skin with a little jojoba oil, or hypericum infused oil, then rub a teaspoonful of grains held in the palm of the hand. Wash off with warm water.
3. As an exfoliant treatment for acne, oily or spotted skin: Remove makeup. Mix the grain with rosewater to create a paste then gently massage into clogged skin. Rinse well with warm water.
4. If using your favorite cleanser: Pour sufficient cleanser into the palm of your hand for the application, then sprinkle a suitable amount of grains to produce the desired exfoliant effect. Mix well and rinse as normal.
Exfoliant treatments should be limited to one to two times a week only.
