26th Jun 2026

Our new product range, inspired by the small-leaved linden, brings gentle yet effective care to your skin and hair. Long celebrated for its beneficial properties, linden has been used for centuries not only in traditional medicine but also in cosmetics. We are delighted to introduce a complete range of products with linden extracts that bring your skin and hair regeneration, hydration and gentle care, drawn straight from nature.

Linden as a Symbol and a Natural Wonder

Linden blossom

The linden is our national tree and the symbolic tree of the Slavic peoples. It was the first tree to be planted beside human dwellings — it protected and it healed. For its fragrance, its graceful crown, and its gentle shade, it became a symbol of protection, help, and love. People believed it could drive away evil spirits and lift dark thoughts from the mind, and they hung images of the Virgin Mary on its branches. Woodcarvers worked its soft timber into altars and statues of saints, which is why it was sometimes called “holy wood.” It became the official national symbol only in June 1848. The linden is not only the national tree of the Czech Republic but also a symbol of love, peace, and health. In folk medicine, the linden has long been valued for its healing properties — from teas to cosmetics. Its blossom is rich in flavonoids, vitamins, and antioxidants, which have anti-inflammatory and regenerating effects.

All products in this cosmetic range contain small-leaved linden (Tilia cordata) extract.

Small-Leaved Linden (Tilia cordata)

A tree reaching 20 to 30 metres in height, with a cylindrical trunk and a dense, ovoid crown. The leaves are heart-shaped, dark green on the upper side and grey-green beneath, with tufts of rusty hairs in the axils of the veins. The flowers are bisexual, growing from the leaf axils on long-stalked, cyme-like inflorescences with a large, membranous, green-yellow tongue-shaped bract. The fruit is a small nut, usually containing a single seed.

Harvest: the whole inflorescences, including the bract, are gathered at the start of flowering. The blossoms are dried in the shade and, where possible, in a draught, in a layer no more than 5 cm deep. Well-dried flowers and bracts should keep their original colour and characteristic scent. We do not collect faded inflorescences with small hairy fruits, nor the buds. Store them in well-sealed containers.

Traditional use: thanks to its active compounds (a large amount of mucilage, tannins, glycosides, essential oils, flavonoids, and more), linden helps to loosen phlegm, encourage perspiration, soothe cramps, support the flow of bile, and improve the appetite. The flowers have a faintly spicy scent and a sweetish, mucilaginous taste. It is also used as a diuretic, and as a sedative for nervous irritation and insomnia. A decoction of linden blossom lends the skin a soft golden tint, which is why it is also valued in cosmetics. Of interest: the genus name Tilia comes from the Greek “ptilon” (wing), after the membranous, winged bracts of the inflorescence.
